Showgirl competition fosters leadership & influence

For 40 years, the Queensland Showgirl Competition has been providing a way for young women to become influential leaders in their communities.

Holly Harington started her connection to the Agricultural Show by showing miniature horses and after success in the ring, her ambition grew. Holly has since been a local Showgirl Award winner, has represented our Region, and competed at a State level at the Ekka last year.

In 3 years, I’ve grown so much in both my personal and professional life. I’ve made so many connections with amazing women from all over Queensland and learnt so much about agriculture and the communities it builds”.

Holly is proudly coordinating the Showgirl competition for the Sunshine Coast Agricultural Show this year.

Young female leaders in this space keep our communities vibrant and agricultural shows alive, and are an integral part of the creative, produce and farming industry network.

To enter the Showgirl competition you simply need to have ties to a Queensland Agricultural Show. The Junior Showgirl category is open for girls aged between 14 and 17 and the Showgirl category is open to women aged 18 to 28. It’s a great chance for young women to build leadership skills, confidence & knowledge through greater involvement in their local show and community.
