The legacy of Paul ‘Mouse’ Madden

Paul Madden (fondly known by the Show family as ‘Mouse’ and by his grandkids as ‘Popeye’) has left a legacy that continues to keep giving.

As parents, grandparents or role models, it’s heart-warming to see our influence on today’s youth. Whether it’s the keeping of family traditions, the retaining of a belief or a shared passion, when you witness youngsters of today embracing these same values and behaviours, it can be as meaningful as any lifelong career achievement.

“Popeye has given me a love for the Sunshine Coast Agricultural Show on a personal level due to his years of involvement”, explains his grandson, Blake.

The Sunshine Coast Agricultural Show prides itself on the quality and experience of our Judges & Stewards, and ‘Mouse’ provided many years of high calibre stewardship in show horses.

“I’ve shown my own miniature horses and Arabian pony, promoted the miniature horses and last year I was a judge of the miniature horse ring”, Blake continues. “I always think of how proud he would be to see his grandchildren maintaining their involvement with the Show”.

The Sunshine Coast Agricultural Show is thrilled to uphold the continuity and legacy of Mouse’s service, honoring his years of dedication to the stabling of horses and the overall needs of the Show.
