Cultivating Our Future Farmers

Have you ever wondered where the next generation of farmers, agriculturalists, and livestock specialists will come from? Look no further than the Sunshine Coast Agricultural Show! Each year, close to 100 enthusiastic students from various schools across SE Qld converge on the Showgrounds to cultivate their interest and skills in this field.

Kicking off on Thursday, 12th June, these budding agriculturalists will be treated to a paddock to plate dinner hosted by the Sunshine Coast Agricultural Show Society. It’s a prelude to a full day of hands-on learning and fun. As they participate in the junior judging program, they’ll get a taste of the agricultural world in a way that textbooks or even working on the family farm, simply can’t provide.

Friday, 13th June, under the watchful eye of Sam Stephens, (Chief Steward of livestock), students will parade livestock, showcase their public speaking skills, and learn how to judge beef and poultry. It’s a full day of competition and camaraderie, learning and fun, with added recognition in the form of Awards.

We are delighted to be able to provide this opportunity to the next generation. The Sunshine Coast Agricultural Show is a celebration of rural life and has been for 125 years. Please show your support for our Juniors this year by visiting the Cattle Pavilion on Friday 13th June to witness these amazing young students honing their skills and showcasing their newfound expertise.
