With over 29,000+ people attending the 2022 Sunshine Coast Agricultural Show, the Show’s committee couldn’t help but let out a sigh of relief standing at the top of The Green seeing nothing but smiling faces from everyone attending.
The number of hours that the committee and our volunteers contribute to the Show every year is unbelievable, with each and everyone of them expressing pure community spirit and a love for the Show. We’d like to thank each and everyone who supported and contributed to the Show this year, without you, there wouldn’t be a Show, once again thank you.
We celebrated 100 years of the Country Women’s Association (C.W.A.). A wonderful achievement by women across Australia. The Show has been supported by the local C.W.A branch for years and we are very honoured to have Patsy Lee, as a representative of the C.W.A. open our Show this year in honour of their 100 year anniversary.
Our livestock competitions saw the grand return of the Stud Beef competition and the introduction of young judges classes in the Poultry competition.
The Stud Beef school competition was very successful and allowed healthy competition amongst our local schools. Our Poultry young judges entrants were filled with enthusiasm and excitement as we had young people of all ages enter. We are proud to see the future of Poultry and Stud Beef are in good hands.
Our Horse events continue to grow as we focus on growing this competition into the future. We set a record this year for the amount of entrants into the Show Jumping and Horse Events.
2022 saw the return of the Show’s Education Stage located in the Livestock precinct, which was an absolute hit. The stage’s purpose was to hold an intimate and informative display of various agriculture industries. The stage was home to shows varying from sheep shearing, horse tricks and welfare tips to wildlife birds and information on opals and fossicking. The smaller and more intimate stage was the perfect setting for viewers to ask our industry experts all their burning questions that they had been dying to ask. With the well-received addition of our Education Stage, you can bet that we will be bringing it back in 2023 with even more things to learn about the Sunshine Coast’s agriculture industry.
Last but not least a Mt Everest sized thank you to the Sunshine Coast community and everyone who travelled far and wide across Australia, coming down to the Nambour Showgrounds and getting involved. We can’t wait to see you all again next year for our 117th Show!
Regards,
The Sunshine Coast Agricultural Show Team

December 19, 2022 at 2:33 pmWe think your site in general needs more imagery! From a historical and promotional POV it would help your brand and assist in ticket sales. Especially to newcomers who dont know what to expect from the show? I`m new to Nambour and would love to know what animal categories and various horse & cattle events/awards are showcased on the day!

December 20, 2022 at 8:01 amHi Simon,
Thank you for your feedback. Leading up to the Show we add more imagery and information as it gets finalised for a Show. Each year is different and it takes time to organise competitions, entertainment and exhibitors all of which we are busy doing right now. Check back closer to showtime and you will see our website changes quite a lot.
Look forward to seeing you at the 2023 Show!
