PLEASE READ THE COMPETITION CONDITIONS CAREFULLY:

The Sunshine Coast Agricultural Show Society (SCASS) is conducted under the Rules and Regulations of the Sunshine Coast Show Society and the Queensland Chamber of Agricultural Societies.

Cattle are encouraged to arrive on the grounds on Thursday, June 12th, 2025 (due to limited unloading space) however loading ramps will not close until 6:30am Friday, June 13th, 2025. Trucks must be parked by 6:30am Friday, June 13th, 2025 for the gates to be opened to the public. This will be strongly policed. Please direct any questions about this to the chief steward.

Please Note: It is encouraged that all exhibitors participate in the Grand Parade at 1:30pm Saturday, June 14th, 2025. Failure to do so may mean that any prize money will be forfeited.

1. SCASS abides by a JBAS Level 6 rating.
2. SCASS adopts the QLD Ag Shows rules as part of their rules. These are the rules of our Show.
3. All entries to be completed online and must be lodged by 5:00pm Friday, June 6th, 2025. 
4. When entering please ensure that your Stud Name is entered under “Company” and the name of your animal under the “Exhibit”.
5. Nominations will not be accepted unless gate entry or membership is paid with entries and waiver form is signed. Membership discounts are only for members using their own online profile. Refunds will not be given due to this error. Membership is to be paid by May 31st, 2025 in order to access membership discounts.
6. Copy of Public Liability Insurance is to be provided prior to the Show. 
7. All cattle to be on the Showgrounds by 7:00am Friday, June 13th, 2025. NLIS Scanning of all cattle will be completed by 7:30am Friday, June 13th, 2025.
8. All cattle must enter the Showgrounds via the Bli Bli Road Gate only prior to Friday. All cattle entering on Friday are to enter via Crusher Park and to be unloaded at ramps as directed by the Stewards. All vehicles are to be parked at Crushers Grounds (monitored by security). Exit is by Bli Bli Gate only or as directed. Any cattle vehicles parked in the Horse Float Parking area will be asked to move. All vehicles coming onto the grounds agree to abide by the SCASS traffic management plan.
9. All Show Cattle must be tick free to enter the Showgrounds.
10. No Stud Beef Cattle will be admitted to the grounds unless thoroughly tractable (easy to manage).
11. All cattle must be bona fide property of the Exhibitor for three (3) months prior to the Show.
12. All ribboned exhibits must be led in the Grand Parade. Failure to do so may lead to disqualification.
13. Whilst all reasonable care is taken, the Society cannot accept any responsibility for any losses of, or damage or injury to or by, any livestock, exhibits, equipment, vehicles or any other property.
14. All exhibitors who participate in the Show Ring MUST wear dust jackets or Society approved uniform at all times when their animal is presented to the Judge.
15. Any exhibitors/competitors intending to bring electrical equipment to the Showgrounds will be required to ensure that such equipment is fitted with residual current protection and that all electrical leads, tools and appliances have been inspected by a licensed electrical contractor and are currently tagged. The use of double adaptors is prohibited and all power boards must be tested and tagged.
16. No dispute will be considered whilst the event is in progress. Protests are to be lodged in writing within 30 minutes after the Class in dispute is completed and must be handed to the Show Secretary accompanied with a fee of $50. The dispute committee will consist of three (3) Management Committee members and their decision will be final.
17. It is forbidden to administer any prohibited drug or cause one to be administered in any way whatsoever. A prohibited drug means any substance originating externally to the animal (whether or not endogenous to the animal) capable of affecting the performance or behaviour of any animal by its action upon the central or peripheral nervous system, the cardiovascular system, the respiratory system, the alimentary system, the musculoskeletal system or the urogenital system and shall include analgesics, anti-histamines, anti-inflammatory agents, blood coagulants, diuretics, hormones and their synthetic counterparts, corticosteroids, anabolic steroids, local anaesthetics, muscle relaxants and tranquilizers. Any exhibit which has been brought to the Showgrounds and is found to have had administered to it any prohibited drug as defined above may, without prejudice to any other action which may be taken in respect of the matter, be debarred by the Show Stewards from competing in any event for which it may have been entered. 
18. No drug, hormone or tranquilizer shall be administered to any animal exhibit except under the direction of the Society’s Veterinary Surgeon who will advise the Stewards if in their opinion, such drug, hormone or tranquilizer is likely to have any effect upon the animal which would be material to its chances of being awarded a prize and in such case the Stewards may debar the animal from competing.  
19. A Show Steward may, at any time, direct the Society’s Veterinary Surgeon to take a sample of blood, saliva or urine from an exhibit for testing. Any testing carried out is at the expense of the exhibitor or owner of the exhibit. All cattle must comply with the health test requirements of Brucellosis and Tuberculosis.
20. All Exhibitors must pay the GST-inclusive Entry Fees whether they are registered for GST purposes or not. All prize money and entry fees stated in the schedule include GST.
21. Exhibitors are not permitted to interfere with the judging process.
22. There is no limit to the number of entries that may be made by an exhibitor.
23. To comply with insurance all entrants must complete a Waiver.
24. Young Paraders and Young Judges - as per Qld. Ag Shows rules, date of birth as of 1/5/2025.
25. The age of the animal is to be the actual age as of 1st June 2025, and all cattle must be registered in the herd book of their breed society.
26. All animals must be haltered and totally tractable at all times. Bulls over 12 months of age must be led with a nose ring and all other cattle over 6 months must be led with a nose grip or nose ring.
27. All animals must be tied with neck strap whilst in their stalls.
28. Exhibitor’s group entries must include three (3) animals and must consist of both sexes. Animals entered in the Pair of Males and Pair of Females must be owned by the exhibitor.
29. Animals under 12 months of age may be exhibited with their dam as one unit OR they may compete as an individual in their appropriate classes. If entered with the Dam, the progeny is unable to enter in an individual class. Each exhibit entry must state full particulars of each animal entered. Name in full, sire, dam, herd book number and date of birth.

COMPETITOR’S PASS: A link will be sent out for the Livestock competitor’s 3-day Pass after the closing date.

PRIZE MONEY and PRIZE CERTIFICATES: No prize money will be paid out if there are any outstanding fees. All prize money will be available for collection from the Cashier at the Treasury, located beside the Main Office as soon as possible after 2:00pm on the Friday of the Show. All prize money is GST-inclusive. Prizes not collected by June 30th, 2025 will be forfeited. Prize cards will not be held after June 30th.

DISCLAIMER: SCASS shall not be responsible for any accident that may be caused to or by an exhibitor, members of the general public or competitor and will not, under any circumstances, be responsible for any losses or non-delivery of livestock or entries of any kind, or any injury or damage done thereby. Persons contravening any of SCASS’s rules/regulations shall forfeit any prize awarded. SCASS reserves the right to refuse, cancel, or require any entry to be removed at any time. Exhibitors shall accept the decision of the Stewards/Judges appointed by SCASS as final. The decisions of the Sunshine Coast Agricultural Show Society Committee are final.
