




The Sunshine Coast Show’s Sweets and Preserves Competition is a celebration of flavour, tradition, and the art of homemade preserving. Open to cooks of all skill levels, this competition highlights the best jams, marmalades, chutneys, and other preserved delights, showcasing the creativity and craftsmanship of local makers.
With categories for both classic and innovative recipes, entrants have the chance to share their finest creations, compete for awards, and gain recognition for their preserving skills. Whether you’re a seasoned expert or a passionate home cook, this competition is a wonderful opportunity to be part of a time-honoured tradition and connect with fellow food lovers.
Sweets and Preserves has a designated Junior Section. If you are school age, try your hand at making Rocky Road, Coconut Ice, or Marshmallows.
All entries will be proudly displayed at the Sunshine Coast Show’s Sweets & Preserves Section, allowing visitors to admire the variety of beautifully crafted preserves. More than just a competition, this event is a way to celebrate local produce, share knowledge, and inspire others to continue the art of preserving for generations to come.

Entries open on April 1st, 2026 and close on June 10th, 2026, giving you plenty of time to prepare your preserves and submit them for judging. The Sunshine Coast Agricultural Show prides itself on the quality and experience of our Judges & Stewards invited to attend the Sunshine Coast Agricultural Show's Sweets & Preserves Competition.
Societies and industry representatives are invited to submit nominations for consideration by the Sunshine Coast Agricultural Show before March 2, 2026.
The Sunshine Coast Agricultural Show also encourages nominations for associate judges and stewards to foster development and education for the next generation.

The Sunshine Coast Show is a ticketed event from Friday to Sunday Inclusive. Access is only via a ticket on these days. |
PLEASE READ THE SCHEDULE CONDITIONS CAREFULLY AS SOME CONDITIONS HAVE CHANGED:-
The Show is conducted under the Rules and Regulations of the Sunshine Coast Show Society Incorporated and the Queensland Chamber of Agricultural Societies
Jars to be a minimum of 200ml, a maximum of 300ml and MUST be round (no hexagonal jars) - this will be strictly enforced.
No jars with embossing, i.e. Roses Jars.
Screw top (plain coloured) lids only - no ribbons or embellishments.
Wax seals are to be removed before delivery.
All jars are to be filled to the top.
21. FOR VINEGARS AND OILS:
Bottles to be minimum 200ml, maximum 300ml - No jars with embossing, embellishment or decoration.
All exhibits must be labelled with variety.
Screw top (plain coloured) lids only - no ribbons or other fancy embellishments.
Wax seals are to be removed before delivery.
All bottles must be filled no less than 1cm from the top.
210ml Jars and 200ml bottles are available for purchase from the Sunshine Coast Show Office for $ 1 per jar.
PRIZE MONEY and PRIZE CERTIFICATES: No prize money will be paid out if there are any outstanding fees. All prize money will be available for collection from the Cashier at the Treasury, located beside the Main Office as soon as possible after 2.00 pm on the Friday of the Show. All prize money is GST-inclusive. Prizes not collected by June 30th will be forfeited. Prize cards will not be held after June 30th.
DISCLAIMER: The Sunshine Coast Agricultural Show Society (SCASS) shall not be responsible for any accident that may be caused to or by an exhibitor, members of the general public or competitor, and will not, under any circumstances, be responsible for any losses or non-delivery of livestock or entries of any kind, or any injury or damage done thereby. Persons contravening any of SCASS’s rules/regulations shall forfeit any prize awarded. SCASS reserves the right to refuse, cancel, or remove any entry at any time. Exhibitors shall accept the decision of the Stewards/Judges appointed by SCASS as final. The decisions of the Sunshine Coast Agricultural Show Society Committee are final.
