Sunshine Coast Agricultural Show
Showgirl Awards Program
The Sunshine Coast Agricultural Show Showgirl Awards have an provided an opportunity for young women to be involved in the agricultural industry, the show movement and their local communities. They in turn gain personal development, have an opportunity to pursue leadership roles in their community and in the workplace.
The Awards have made a significant contribution to the advancement of women in regional and rural areas since the first Queensland Showgirl was awarded. Today, the winner of Sunshine Coast Agricultural Show Showgirl has the opportunity to represent Sunshine Coast Agricultural Show Society at the Sub Chamber awards (held in October/November annually) and if successful continue on to State Finals held in conjunction with the Ekka.
The State Showgirl Awards hosted by the Queensland Chamber of Agricultural Societies, promoted by the Queensland Country Life, have together offered hundreds of Queensland women the opportunity to be involved in one of our great Australian traditions for over 40 years – the local Show.

Holly Harington
Our 2024 Sunshine Coast Agricultural Show Showgirl and Near North Coast Sub Chamber winner!
“3 years ago, I didn’t even know what a Showgirl was. Since then, I have been incredibly fortunate to be on an amazing journey of learning and stepping up within my community. Becoming Showgirl for my local show, to then representing the Near-North Coast Sub chamber at the State Finals has been nothing short of an extraordinary experience!
Through this program, I’ve grown so much in both my personal and professional life. I’ve made so many connections with amazing women from all over Queensland and learnt so much about Agriculture and the communities it builds. It is so much more than just wearing a sash and walking around a show, the Showgirl program is a unique opportunity for women all over regional and rural Queensland to grow.”
